Adrienne rushes to the front of the financial pack

13/10/2014

Local Bendigo Bank Financial Planner, Adrienne Rush, has been announced as a finalist for two national awards celebrating women in the financial services industry.

Adrienne has only one hurdle left to clear in her quest to win the Association of Financial Advisers Female Excellence in Advice Award, which recognises female financial advisers who are making a significant contribution to their clients, their community and their profession.

Money Management and Super Review have also announced Adrienne as a finalist in the Pro Bono category of their second annual Women in Financial Services awards.

Adrienne has been empowering Melbourne women to take control of their finances in recent years, speaking at events and running financial literacy workshops for women in her spare time.

"The proceeds from these events helped fund workshops for women with cancer through Think Pink and newly arrived immigrant women, helping them to take control of their finances in their unique situations," Ms Rush said.

Adrienne hopes a win will give her greater voice to reach out and inspire women of all ages to join and excel in the finance industry, while also contributing to improving women's financial literacy in the community.

"My aim is to make financial advice available and accessible for all women, regardless of their current financial position or their financial goals," she said.

Bendigo Wealth's Head of Advice Solutions, Diego Del Rosso, said this kind of recognition promotes positive change in the financial advice sector, encouraging more women to enter the industry and take leadership roles.

"Adrienne's nomination by her peers and her progression to the final stages of both of these awards is not only a wonderful recognition of her achievements, but also opens the door wider to reach an even greater number of women in the industry," Mr Del Rosso said.

Adrienne will be hosting a workshop on Monday 10 November at Pelican's Landing in Williamstown, with proceeds going to Women's Health West and the Think Pink Foundation. Visit www.womenshealthwealthfulfilmment.eventbrite.com.au for more.
